Apple Ale Beer Bread that is so insanely easy it’s embarrassing. Three ingredients are all you need to bake up a loaf of warm, fresh-from-the-oven deliciousness. No mixer required.
This beer bread takes any meal over the top but it especially pairs well with soups and stews. The subtle apple flavor from the ale also compliments any pork dish. And it’s great toasted and slathered with honey butter!
This just couldn’t be simpler; start with self-rising flour, add a little sugar and a bottle of apple ale. Mix gently, put it in a loaf pan, and toss it in the oven.
The carbonation and liquid from the apple ale reacts with the levening ingredients in the flour to make the bread rise right away so don’t dawdle getting it in the oven.
Our 3 ingredient cast of characters.
Mix the flour and sugar together then pour in the apple ale. ALL of the ale, no sampling to make sure it’s ok to use.
Mix gently and pour into the loaf pan.
This Apple Ale Beer Bread is pretty substantial a.k.a. dense with a nice chewy crust, slightly sweet with an apple(ish) tang. Look at that beautiful, cracked top! Goes great served with a big bowl of soup like my Sausage Lentil Soap. Warm. Slathered in honey butter. Just sayin.
