Apple Ale Beer Brats for a Crowd

Ingredients
  • 2(19 ounce) package bratwursts(such as Johnsonville)
  • 3(12 ounce) bottles apple ale(such as Redd's)
  • 2medium onions, cut into large chunks
  • water to cover
Instructions
  1. Grill brats 3-5 minutes on each side or until browned. Pierce each brat one or two times with a fork. Transfer to large pot. Add onions, beer, and enough water to cover brats.
  2. Bring to a boil over high heat, then lower to a simmer.
  3. Simmer for 10-15 minutes or until cooked through. Serve immediately or turn heat to low until ready to serve.
